Disillusioned
Sorry for the long period of absence. As the title explains for itself, I have taken away all my illusions and felt the sense of reality hit hard. Can't really say much about that. But morale sinks really low in the aspect of my career. Quite ironic to say so, especially on Teacher's Day. makes me reflect on my doings this year, the whole of the 8 months which has passed. What i can say is that i did more rights last year than this.Not that i don't get appreciated. I've received nice cards, with meaningful msges, i love it when they remember things that i've said and done which i felt wasn't a big deal, but they remembered =) but just that i don't think i'm giving my all this year than last year, being bogged down by thousands of other "fire-fighting stuff" at work.
On a brighter note, I've got things to look forward to at the end of the school year..

~ Romantic Princess ~
This show is shown every Wednesday and Thursday. I'm almost done with the whole series though.. hee.. cos over the weekend has been bored by marking etc, so watched a few episodes and got hooked. but i really did do work too!!Anyway, just wanted to comment on the storyline. it's abit like the Meteor Garden type of show. with 4 guys too, protecting the female lead (but not all gd-looking) :P
Even though the show is not very logical to begin with, I'm still hooked. because every girl will have the dream to become a "xiao gong zhu". sleeping in a big big 4 poster bed, fluffy pillows, big big room, big big bath tub, unlimited supply of nice dresses, nice hair, nice shoes, nice guy to protect me from danger, fast cars, nice little tiara.. I hope to be a "xiao gong zhu" on my wedding day. ok, i'm easily satisfied, but i doubt i can be the xiao gong zhu everyday, isn't it? hee..
i think this show is also a chance for Angela to showcase her songs. her songs are on every episode.. but i think they are very apt to bring out the emotion the story wants to show. one of the songs i like which is not very known in her album:

~ Welcome to a New Year ~
Ok, I think I should've blogged about summarising the year 2007 and new year resolutions earlier on, but didn't manage to do so. So let's do it now:Year 2007
was an ok start i guess.. Can't really remember what happened at the start of the year. Just remembered myself being in NIE, disastrous practicum, getting accepted by NJ.
Was glad that the NJ experience was so far so good. Busy at times, but glad to find a bunch of KTV-going colleagues who can sing really well!
Glad that i made friends with some of my same-batch colleagues and we shall hi-tea together during the holidays again! :)
my first time being a co-form of such a wonderful class. they were really nice people! and i enjoyed it while it lasted. :)
gained a lot of weight! which i have trouble shedding. which will be part of my 2008 resolutions.
went to a record number of weddings and ROMs, which i tink will get more this year.
Year 2008 Resolutions
My student showed me her list of new year resolution which was overwhelmingly long! I doubt i could keep to a long list if i have one. for me, simply these 5 items-->
- Lose weight. lose >5kg. highest priority! Actions to take: jogging at least once or twice a wk (will do that when i have CCA), eat less (dun submit to temptations!! quite hard)
- Do a better job than last year and do MORE! (i must admit that last year i did not do my job as good as i wanted, this year i will do a better job! ask more questions, be more organised, manage my time better, take better care of my new form class)
- Travel to somewhere which i haven't travelled before. Japan or Europe. travel companion found.
- Be more sensitive to my poor bf. Sorry for taking u for granted sometimes. And thanks for being a caring bf. and a nice shoulder to lean on. :)
- Try to go home more for dinner. Quite hard. cos it is conflicting with resolution number 1. and seriously, i dun meet my bf as often as i like. I will be married to my work during school term (resolution number 2)!

~Stephen~
Fate has a funny way of getting round..Just like the other day when i bumped into Stephen at the airport. I didn't think that that will be the last time i will see him. He was so alive, so full of energy and zest, and his smile stayed on my mind. It also didn't occur to me that maybe saying a "good luck", "God bless" and "Bon Voyage" means so much, till we lost him.
My heart sank the other day when i saw his photo on the front page of Saturday's newspaper. I was shocked that he was missing. When the realisation that last Thursday's brief encounter with him will be the last I saw of him struck, I was devastated. I lost my colleague just so suddenly.
It won't matter that much more, if i have not seen him at the airport before he flew off to Cambodia.. And now, let's just wish he is watching over us, giving the students the courage to stand up once again to fight for glory, in the memory of their dear teacher.
Do cherish our loved ones, cos we won't know when they'll be gone..
